WordPress Ecommerce: WooCommerce Course Released

I've been creating courses for Lynda.com since last summer and I finally released the course that I've been dying to work on. It's actually the very first course that I pitched to them. Hint: it involves WordPress + eCommerce. Today I'm pleased to announce that WordPress Ecommerce: WooCommerce is available on Lynda.com.

My Background with WooCommerce

My first WooTrip in 2013

I started using WooCommerce in 2013 for client projects. I built some pretty giant WooCommerce sites that did all sorts of fun things like automatically add, update, and delete products based on what's in the warehouse.

I decided to go for a remote job so I applied to WooThemes as a support ninja. I did that for a year and then I joined the dev team.

After being on the dev team for a few months I moved into the role of product manager. This is where I helped choose what features we wanted to focus on and this is when I really got into e-commerce. Because now I had to build features that people would actually use not just build whatever was handed to me.

I did this for a year before the WooMattic acquisition and then I did a whole year at Automattic before setting off on my own. Now I'm making courses and doing my best to share how powerful running your own business (especially e-commerce site) can be.

The WooCommerce Course

I've taken the last 3 years worth of knowledge from supporting, developing, and leading WooCommerce and put it into a 2.5 hour course.

This course will help you build your own store using WordPress + WooCommerce.

Topics in the course:

In addition to a walk through of the entire plugin I talk about all sorts of edge cases & e-commerce best practices.

We'll go through all of the core features in WooCommerce and I'll share with you when it makes sense to get some of the premium extensions from WooCommerce.com.

WooCommerce is amazing because it let's you build your own online empire. I hope this course helps you get the most out of WooCommerce so you can get the most out of your life. 🙂

BTW if you want here's a free 10 day trial to Lynda.com.
